Comments: Farewell Disco Dave II...

Splendid. I collected my new car today too. But mine was not new...no sir. My latest addition is a 34 years old MGBGT V8 and I am a very happy camper.
Would like to have a look over your Disco 4 to see how it compares to my Disco 3. Just anorak interest you understand!

Is that a golden ring of stars on a blue background on the numberplate?

My '82 Diesel Suburban is still crushing hippies and bicyclists ... the engine is still working on it's 4th cycle around the odometer ... should hit the half-million mile mark next year.

Why are those Landrover thingies so fragile?

Posted by Kristopher at September 27, 2009 7:40 AM

They are fragile because they are made on a friday when the workforce is still hammered after thursday nights dart competition at the social!

Oh and they are Indian not even Jap!

Hmmm lets see a 82 diesel suburban has a 6.2litre engine(i would guess) hence OPEC getting nervous when it is not on the move, i would also bet that it would not go half the places and in certainly less comfort than the so called "fragile" LR 4......i would be willing to challenge you any day!

Very nice. Should look fine after proper application of mud and wet dogs. Well wear!

About the numberplate - that would be a circle of twelve golden mullets on an azure field. It's heraldry, don't you know...

Tony: Diesels also get good millage, as well as waking the neighborhood. My 'burb gets about 20 miles per gallon in city traffic, and 28 MPG on the highway. ( 8.4 lp100km for folks living behind the metric curtain )

Or alternatively, the tank can be filled by heat depolymerizing a quarter metric ton of dead hippie.

Oh, and an old 'burb isn't about comfort ... it's about crushing your enemies under it.
