They can secure them without locktite ... but they can't bring themselves to make their precious bits of teutonic complexity less than pristine ... so they won't do what is needed.

Paint the threads with iodine ... then torque them in hard enough to slightly deform the threads. They will then rust in place and stay there until heated out with a torch.

I wouldn't like to try to get a cheek weld and a sight picture simultaneously with that rig.....
