When I was a callow, teen-age youth, growing up on the plains of Nebraska, we used to take our guns to school, leaving them in the trunks of our various jalopies.
We used to hunt in the morning, before school, on the way home, in the evenings.
No dogs, no beaters, no cased shotguns. Just 12 & 20 gauge pumps and the occasional .410 bolt gun and walking the edges of cornfields and brush patches in the cool autumn light. I don't rememember that we bagged a lot of birds but we had a helluva good time. In the end, that's the main thing, isn't it?

Somehow, I read "shooting peasants". What size shot for that?
I hope you have a good time, and better weather than I had last week. I could barely see the birds for the rain.

I, also, thought "Shouldn't he be shooting shysters, socialists, and bureaucrats?
