Offences involving firearms have increased in all but four police areas in England and Wales since 1998, figures obtained by the Tories reveal. One part of the country has seen the problem increase almost seven fold as the availability of guns, and criminals' willingness to use them rises.

Surely this can’t be true? Didn’t governments both Tory & Labour seize our property to ensure that there wouldn’t be any more firearms related crime?
There were 9,865 firearm offences in 2007/08, a rise of 89 per cent on the 5,209 recorded in 1998/99. Lancashire Police saw a 598 per cent increase from just 50 to 349 over the period while Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Essex all saw five fold increases.
Clearly this massive leap is gun crime is as a direct result of the most law abiding section of society still being allowed to own shotguns, sporting rifles & black powder weapons as these are generally the chosen weapons of predominantly urban gangs
In total, 21 forces saw offences at least double over the decade while just four, Cleveland, Humberside, Cambridgeshire and Sussex, saw the number fall. While provisional figures for 2008/09 suggest overall firearm offences may be down on the previous year, they point to a doubling of the number of people injured or killed.
Some 1,760 gun related injuries or deaths were provisionally recorded for 2008/09, compared with 864 in 1998/99.
Of course the government lies machine has immediately sprung into action...
A Home Office spokeswoman said: It is misleading to compare figures for 2007 / 08 with those from 2002 and before, due to changes in recording practices.
There has been an 11 per cent fall in gun crime since 2005 and provisional figures for firearm offences recorded by the police show they account for 0.2 per cent of all recorded crime
... by blaming the errors in their own statistics as opposed to admitting that they, the AoCPO & the police in general are guilty of lying time & time again.
Utter pricks the whole frigging lot of them. & before this anyone asks this is why I have made it one of my missions to acquire as many firearms as I possibly can, within their stupid nonsensical mong laws. At the moment the totalizer stands at

Most of us 'Mericans don't need a mother-may-I for each firearm.
You have to go through more crap for a fucking .22 rifle then we do for a machinegun. And don't even think about buying a centerfire pistol ... the world might come to an end.

Actually, Mr. FM, that is quite impressive.
Most Americans own at least four or five weapons, maybe more than that if they hunt.
It is certainly nothing to sneeze at. A question about the revolvers: Are they antiques or of modern make, and are they fairly accurate?
Here in the State of Georgia, if you have a CCW permit, and wish to purchase another firearm, you don't have any hassles other than the requisite paperwork.
Ever see the movie 'Red Dawn?' It is about the hypothetical invasion of the USA by communist Cuba. First thing the invading command did was get the gun owner registries.
It is a good movie, but not that great. Worth watching for a few reasons.

Actually, given the problems you have with acquiring handguns, that's a very respectable arsenal.
More shotguns than I have, for one thing, even though I may shade you a little on the rifles. And of course there are the semi-auto battle rifles (which you can't get either, until after The Glorious Day).
But I know of several American households which are not as well protected as yours. Nothing at all to be ashamed of, there.
