Scene - Its quarter past eleven on Thursday morning. Your humble correspondent & a colleague are in a meeting with a large number of consultants which has been running since eight o'clock...

Consultant #9: ... & this is going to cost you £125,000 a month

YHC: So what do I get for that?

Consultant #2: (Consultant #9's boss): You will have a report by mid February

YHC: & then what happens?

Consultant #5: Their consultants will comment upon your consultants work

YHC: Really?

Consultant #11(without irony): This is completely normal

Ever had that urge to simply kill absolutely everyone in the room?

The way a consultant from "Douche and Toilet,LLC." explained it to me, was they would be called in because a company would have a problem. They would interview people and find out what the problem actually was and what the solution was from the people already working for the company. Their job was to write this up in non-acusatory language, and present to the company the solutions that they already knew but needed the excuse of "consultants" to give them cover to fire the bosse's relatives or something similar.
When the economy was down it would, of course take much longer to do this process and would often require the consultants to bring in "special" consultants. He said it beat the hell out of running an actual business.

I would think that for the normal meeting room--which for some reason usually has a table carefully selected to make it difficult to move around the room, a table that is in fact the maximum size you can fit in a room and still get people in and out--you would want something a little lighter and more maneuverable. Like suppressed mini-uzi or a chain saw.

Mmmm...Chainsaw...
