Firearms Certificate conditions

As promised, set out below are the conditions on my new Firearms Certificate

So for example, should I be out foxing with my .243 & a long range rabbit presented itself, that could land me in a spot of hot water however in comparison to many many long suffering shooters, my ticket is just about as open as it can be.

However, I did notice that Condition 8c which relates to my authority to acquire & hold expanding ammunition is new & allows me to shoot animals for the protection of other animals or humans. Define ‘animals’...

I noticed the "...adequate financial arrangements..." bit on my last renewal - never noticed it before. When did that come creeping in?

Bruce, this condition replaces "MOD approved ranges" as the MOD will no longer inspect civilian ranges.

Its interesting that for you, "sound moderators" are required and the mere possession of one in Canada, unattached to a firearm, will land you in jail for five years. Anything that moderates the report of a firearm in Canada is a prohibited device.

Sorry to rain on your parade old chap, but 8c only allows you hold and aquire expanding ammo to shoot animals for the protection of other animals or humans. It does not allow you to actually fire it unless specifically stated in 5, 6, or 7 above (have recently had a deep and meaningful conversation with my Constabulary ref this).
Not to worry, you could drive the cartridges into offending kneecaps with a hammer, or use a catapult.

BDFT - I think that's pretty much true here too, UNLESS one has applied specifically to possess one and been given the appropriate permission from the Police.

Borth American readers will find it very hard to belive this shit, but I assure them that it is not an early April Fool, these are the laws we live by, imposed on us by aa corrupt bunch of money grubbing mediocrities as ever infested a polytechnic lecture theatre.

Not sure if it helps at all, but this was psted as a sticky on the FAC section of a popular forum recently...

ACPO ADMINISTRATION OF FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES LICENSING WORKING GROUP
Meeting 01/2008

08/01/15 Deer stalkers, shooting lesser species
15.1 Members considered a previously circulated letter received by the National Gamekeeper’ Organisation requesting consideration be given to agree it would not be in the public interest to prosecute firearm certificate holders for legally shooting species smaller than those to which his FAC conditions apply.
15.2 Members agreed those with authority and good reason should be able to shoot to lesser species as well as deer, and the Chair will draft a suitable condition for the taking of deer, fox and vermin and circulate to members of the group for their agreement/observations.
Action 14 – Chair
15.3 While FELWG anticipates not all certificate holders will wish to have their conditions amended, those who would will be invited to submit them to their respective force Firearms Licensing Departments, in due course, so this can be done.
15.4 The Chair will write to the Chair of NGO.

How are these conditions arrived at? Some of them seem to be generic, but others seem to reference the specific equipment and ammunition you personally possess. Do they write specific restrictions for each individual shooter?
