Taxpayer funded McJobs

A billion pounds is to be spent on creating tens of thousands of "soft" public sector jobs for unemployed people including dance assistants, tourism ambassadors and solar panel engineers ... The £1 billion fund is open to local councils, charities and other voluntary organisations. The bodies bid for the public money from the Government in order to create "socially useful jobs".
I'm sorry, but its the only way forward from this sort of thinking...

Say!
Isn't this EXACTLY how the Soviet Union kept its
Unwashed Masses employed? Elevator operators in
automated elevators; "concession stand operators"
who stand next to a cigarette vending machine; and
of course the ever-present road repair workman who
leans on a shovel that's never been used...
Ain't Socialism just wonderful?

But the UK can't afford to buy or fix helicopters for troops in combat...

Here's an idea......if you're unemployed for more than a year, you get drafted,9 months basic and the sent to Helmand to face the tali.
Should do away with the need for assine job creation.

If someone's too lazy and unmotivated to find work, do you really think we want them in the Army?
That's what the Navy and the Air Force are for.
