& to start our day...
Below is a well publicised photograph that appeared it just about all of the press yesterday, showing Prince William, sporting race leathers & an Arai helmet, on his Ducati motorcycle
Or to look at it another way, a (part) German, wearing a Japanese helmet on an Italian motorcycle. Whoever said that the old Axis alliance was dead?

Shouldn't he be on a Triumph?

I think he's part Greek, more than part German, by now...
Too bad BSA folded; then he could have experienced the many joys of impromtu motorcycle maintenance enjoyed by so many Brits over the years.

Why do the British drink warm beer? Because they have Lucas refrigerators.
why don't the British make TV's ? Because they havent figuered out how to make them leak oil yet.
The trouble with British bikes are well known thats why hrh is better on a wop bike.

Back in the 1970s some of the crowd I hung with liked British bikes. Of course the had thrown away the SU carbs, used string and silicon sealant to seal the case, and had replaced most of the Prince of Darkness electrical bits. Most slowly gave up though and had ceremonial burials of their Whitworth tools.

More danish than German, and more Greek than either, and more British than those. Please remember that Japan was a valuable ally during the first world war, and barring an unfortunate aberration for fourteen years from 1931 has been on good terms with the UK since the Meiji restoration 0f 1867. Italy was an ally during the first world war and at the end of the second- and would have struggled to unite without British support during the risorgimento. In short he's as patiotic as any other Englishman who has a foreign great grandfather (and that's most of us, if we recognise the independence of Ireland).
I do believe he'd be more sensible if he got a Hinckley Triumph- maybe a 675 or the Sprint 1050, no point in struggling with the prince of darkness.
