And deadly, too. One of my great (and destined to be unfulfilled) wishes is to fly one.

Yes I agree with you Kim du Toit. Deadly and beautiful with a very rich history behind it.If I had a choice of any airplane to fly ,past or present it would be a Spitfire .Reginald Mitchell got it right.
