I've always found that one can cut down on the consumption of the Demon Liquor in pubs by sticking to single-malts, each paid for IN CASH.

The all-too-apparent rapid depletion of one's cash is a marvellous brake on gluttony.

Of course, if you first stop off at the ATM and withdraw a grand of the ready, then you've only yourself to blame...

Expense accounts a cross one must bear!
