& our first contestant for African Infantryman of the Year 2009 is…

Whilst the 2008 contest was hotly contested, this year the competition is likely to be even more fierce & we start with this fine fellow

Now lets set aside the somewhat interesting choice battledress & focus on the personal weapon. The MG 42 & its many many variants in a fine weapon, but is it just me or is this particular example missing a rather critical part?

He's using the 2" barreled muzzleflash-enhanced MG-42 variant.

It's perfect with his high-visibility camouflage.

I see the Karmine Klad Klan have an interesting take on the idea of the SMG :D

Ah yes, the Nigerian Windage Model, featuring the ultra-low-density barrel and Helen Keller Target Acquisition mechanism. The logic behind the apparel color choice becomes more clear now, I think.

Hey! At least they are color coordinated!

It looks like the Air Brake version with the flash suppressor and an air gap of about 18". Perfect for those night time ops when one wants to sneak up on the foe and smother them in crimson. Roll Tide!

I insist on seeing the NEXT photo in the series... the after-action one.

I'd say it's an MG3 rather than an MG42. Still probably works better with a barrel though.

It's a new type of cornershot, he probably has the barrel under his armpit with a cute red kitten attached to it.

It's the Blaser R93 version the new belt fed model for driven Wildebeest.

Happy New Year everybody

P.S. Mr Fm pleae drive your 4*4 more I'm freezing.

Ghost

Is it me or does the housing appear to be well bent like... I don't know... run over with a truck or something of that nature. I think the red is a good camo. No one will be able to tell how shot up he is.

Belt looks very sus as well. Empty cases on disintegrating link for an MG42? The post war version was disintegrating link cabable but somehow I think not in this case. Love the tactical glass see thru barrel.

Maschinengewehr 1942, or MG3 was/is a damn fine weapon, though I've heard it works better with a barrel. Of course, this could be the new transparent barrel made of space age polymers developed by NASA scientists. I think I saw it on the Home Shopping Network. The same item came with the lovely linens he's sporting.

If looks could kill.....this guy is FUCKING ACE!...

Dude....

How in Gods most holly name do these people ....

...oh never mind....
