Today I shall be mainly listening to...

Today I will be shirking – well not shirking exactly. After the school run I have to pop down to Salisbury. From there it will be cross country to Cirencester for a spot of luncheon

& then on to Monmouthshire where I shall be staying in this fine hostelry tomorrow night, with seven other stout bulldogs

Do you recall all of those 12-bore cartridges … well we fully intend to put them to good use on Friday. Given that I shall be driving through some of the most beautiful & quintessentially English countryside you could ever imagine, I think that it is entirely appropriate to spend the journey listening to this man’s music

Very very loudly.

Stunning pics. Especially the fields. I am curious about hunting in Britain; obviously one needs a license, but what sorts of weapons besides firearms are allowed in hunting? Here, we can use bow and arrow, in some areas crossbow, black powder, rifle and shot guns. Of course it depends on what is being hunted. Care to elaborate more?

Perhaps, but I had my fill of Maestro Elgar years ago, endlessly performing Pomp & Circumstance over and over each June for high school graduation. He isn't my cup of tea in any case. I know he has written more than P&C, but I'm afraid I've been forever biased against him for that bit. Not his fault, but there it is.

With the way the world economy seems to be headed, I may have to get back into practice after all these years, so I can "fiddle" for my supper.

Cricket drop me a line and I can send you some links to sporting shooting over here. I am glad Mr FM is back in his hunter wellies. I was beginning to despair for him. I will be beating a new estate nearby on saturday as our birds are still a little immature! A bit like their keeper!

It's probably going to rain, anyway...

Not that I'm super-jealous, or anything.

I think I'll just head to the range with the old AK-47 and a few pistols, for spite.

If you're still in Monmouthshire on monday I apologise in advance for the noise - those Typohoons, Harriers & Harriers will be busy practising their most important role - CAS. Hope the birds recover by the time you're back.

Tim, I dropped you a line at your blog.
