Typhoon watch 4: A direct hit?

Currently you find your humble correspondent holed up the Four Seasons Hotel's Blue Bar, indulging in a prolonged & very serious Typhoon Watch. The Warning Signal No.9 has been hoisted as Nuri has changed track a little since yesterday, looking at the latest set of charts issued by the Hong Kong Observatory

The hysterically bad coverage on the local TV stations is talking about the possibility of Signal No.10 being raised as we might get a ‘direct hit’. Indeed, over the last 5 minutes, my view of Victoria Harbour has completely disappeared - so either the storm’s main rain bands have just arrived or I have fallen off my bar stool. BWTF, I am full of errrrr good cheer & looking at the complexions of my fellow ‘watchers’, I’d say that the hotel’s ice maker is just about running full on to the max. So no cause for concern yet!
