I dunno - it seems like people like to vilify Ritalin, but from personal experience (from age 6 to 16), it was a lifesaver indeed.

personally, I reckon Calvin would be the kind to swap the pills in the bottle for sweets, and flog the pills in the streets for big bucks to the druggies.

I thought Hobbes would be selling Calvin's gear and substituting sweeties for him.
