"This broken promise is part of a wider fear of democracy" - Simon Jenkins

Some 88% of the British public want a referendum on the EU's Lisbon Treaty, according to private polls for the I Want a Referendum (IWAR) campaign. The unofficial ballot was conducted by postal vote last month in 10 Labour and Liberal Democrat marginal seats. A total of 152,520 people voted, with 133,251 backing a referendum.
Of course, the reason that there is no way on earth, flat or not (see posts passim) that our political masters will give us the referendum that was promised because they don’t trust us to deliver the answers that they want

So just for the record & because this is probably the only place where I will get to voice my opinion, call in a Constitution, Treaty or call it what you like …

The Referendum debate is little more than a Red Herring. No Referendum is needed. None.
Consider: When Ted Heath signed the first of those many treaties back in the early 1970's, he was committing TREASON. Under Magna Carta, any Act or Agreement or Treaty or Contract etc etc signed by any so-called representative of the people is NULL AND VOID if the nature of the agreement being signed is TREASONOUS. It is simply not possible to sign a legally binding treaty with Europe because the act of trying to sign such a document (which can only occur under conditions of deception, as in this case), being an act of TREASON, voids the document.
This may seem academic. It isn't. See this item and video:

Albert Burgess, a retired long service police officer has filed charges of treason and sedition against Ted Heath and many of his cohorts (some of whom still live). The crime of Treason is still punishable by hanging. As is sedition. As is misprision. The Queen is not exempt. Neither are most politicians of the last 40 years.
The Referendum issue is somewhat diversionary in that it further undermines what little conviction we may have left in our politicians. Their pathetic behaviour may convince people that we'd be better off in Europe than under their shabby direction. Fortunately, we don't need either Europe or our incumbent treasonous politicians. We just need to support Albert Burgess. Easy.

I would hope the UK would have enough sense to not go down the road of zee Germans and the rest of the EUROS who are over taxed and who will dance to the tune of the Russians and Islamists to keep their lifestyle.

Yeah, the Brits don't need foreigners to show them how to tax the people to buggery -- they're quite capable of doing it for themselves.
