If you don't like it, get another job

This morning dear readers, I thought that we would consider anything other than the latest inquest into the death of the bulimic whinger – that standby story of idle MSM hacks everywhere. Cant be bothered to report any news because you have been out on the slash for the last three days? Well write another article about the ‘Peoples Princess’. What utter utter bollocks!

So instead, lets take for our subject this morning, police pay, as it seems to be in the news again …

The Police Federation is seeking an urgent meeting with the home secretary to protest against her decision not to backdate a 2.5% pay rise.

It says the rise for officers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland really amounts to 1.9%, as it starts from 1 December rather than September. The federation adds it is considering campaigning against the legal ban on officers taking strike action

The government says the pay rise is in line with its inflation target.

Now its probably been over a decade since I agreed with just about anything that whichever government has been in power has done – the two main exceptions to this are student loans & bombing foreigners: both groups after all that deserve at best our derision & then only in the absence of any laser guided bombs etc etc. However, for once & strange as it may seem, despite being stone cold sober, I find myself agreeing with Nu Labours stance on police pay.

It works like this …

Despite performing a supposedly essential public service, the police have become completely politicised in the last 15 years & are now more concerned with the colour of a recruit’s skin & raising revenue from their piggy bank speed cameras than actually catching criminals. Our once magnificent police forces have now embraced with missionary zeal, political correctness & spend their days calculating their carbon footprint rather than getting boots out on the beat. Don’t give me that intelligence based crime fighting nonsense - the way that the police spend the huge amounts of taxpayers money on such things as diversity programmes is a complete insult to our intelligence.

Anyway, if you don’t like the job, the terms & conditions of employment or … the pay, get a different job. That’s the way it works in the real world, why shouldn’t it work like that for the police … or teachers … or any other public sector employee that tries to threaten the taxpayer with moral & economic blackmail when it come round to salary review time again?

Its not as if they are doing a fantastic job in reducing the amount of crime or even investigating it in the first place

Police are refusing to investigate more than two million reported crimes every year, including huge numbers of burglaries and thefts. Almost four out of 10 offences are "screened out" as unsolvable within hours of being reported to police, and the cases are closed.

& maybe they should take a tip from the private sector – if you want a pay rise, prove that you are worth it - you tend to find that the boss is a little more amenable to upping your salary. Sitting back & saying its not fair that you can’t have more money plays about as well with the average company director as it should with the British taxpayer. If they go on strike, fine: frankly these days I doubt that we would notice much difference

Hear hear, my only concern here is that Neu Arbeit have the nerve to stand firm on a 1919 law forbidding PC plod from striking yet seem unable to follow their own recent legislation on party funding. The answer, create more laws and up the members allowances whilst they are at it!
Perhaps the current incumbents of the trough (for they are selv serving not public servants) will be subject to Inspector Knackers close review in light of the lack of funding for their diversity training!

If the police want to blackmail the gov then they should work to rule and stop enabling petty motoring fines, that will attract the chancellors attention!!!
