Socialism (on a frosty December morning)

In a speech at this year’s Labour Party conference (which incidentally, increasingly resembles a gathering of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party) Gordon ‘control freak’ Brown was heard to espouse

I have no doubt that the best answer to disengagement from our democracy is to renew our democracy. And that means more change … change to strengthen our liberties to uphold the freedom of speech, freedom of information and the freedom to protest.

Why is it every time that I hear some pondlife politician starting to talk about our hard won & long standing freedoms, I know that it means that are about to embark upon yet another invidious assault upon the rights & responsibilities of all stout bulldogs? Head for the rooftops with a rifle? Any more of this sort of duplicity & I swear that I am going to go completely Heather Mills McCartney

In fact, increasingly regularly, I find myself fighting the urge to reach for the keys to my firearms safe shortly after hearing which ever Home Secretary it is this week saying that we have to trust them. Trust this unholy ménage of utter nangers as they lie to us like a cheap NAAFI watch? I wouldn’t trust even one of them to even sit the right way round on the lavatory seat.

Politicians lie. Politicians lie like socialists seek to embezzle & incarcerate. Indeed socialism is neither a benign creed nor as its exponents would have us believe, is it for benefit of the people. It is just another self serving political concept in motion. In an era when the Westminster Village extols the virtues of public transport over personal choice, it is just one more self righteous gravy train that relies on the economic ignorance of the populous in whose name it pretends to act.

Despite what mealy mouthed politicians espouse, it is not a political destination either. It seeks to change (or preferably destroy) everything continually, for nothing more than changes sake, in order to justify the continuing centralisation of executive power.

Take for example the last Queen’s Speech … in summary, the Government announced that it wanted to extend the length of time that it can hold terrorist suspects without charge yet didn’t have the bottle to announce how long it is proposing to summarily imprison – this lack of ‘bottle’ is nothing new when it comes Brown. However, it the interest of editorial balance, it behoves your humble correspondent to point out the in said speech, the Government did have the courage to announce that it was considering extending this arbitrary ability to detain suspects without charge to include other offences as well; probably offences such as have too large a carbon footprint, not being inclusive enough, being in procession of traditional morals & values etc etc…

Individual privacy is an offence to the socialist idea of the collective. CCTV cameras & ID cards rely on the terrorist bogeyman as the Nu Liebour excuse to suspend our ancient civil liberties. Sadly, after over 60 years of the post-war workers paradise, duped into acquiescence by successive administrations Blighty no longer seems to care – or if they do care, they probably deserve what is coming to them in the shape of the latest tome of Strasbourg’s edicts for not fighting back.

Just remember dear readers, last year it was reported that across the country there are now approximately 5,000,000 surveillance cameras, or to put it another way, 1 camera for every 12 of Her Majesty’s subjects. Apparently this intrusion represents something like 1/5 of the World’s CCTV cameras which is quite an achievement when you consider that the UK comprises 0.2% of the World’s inhabitable land mass. It makes you proud to know that we are blazing a shining path for every other dictatorship out there. Come on Burma, North Korea, Iran … pull your socks up!

Socialism is as international as Syphilis, HIV or Cancer but among the catatonically stupid, it is more virulent than Ebola - Malaria might be the biggest killer of man ever to evolve, but from time to time we manage to at least check its spread: against the seductive charms of ‘free’ healthcare, education & social security there seems to be no reality vaccine – not at least while others are paying.

Democracy as it used to be know is these days an oxymoron. A delusion. Xanadu. Scotch mist. Our politicians are like serial adulterers. Wife & mistress? The likes of Blair, Brown, Millibland & their career apparatchiks seem to possess the ability to hold two opposing views at the same time. You could call it Doublespeak but Brown signs up to a defacto EU constitution yet at the same time claims to have stopped the European juggernaut. If that isn’t sleeping to with your mistress & then going home to your wife to tell her you love her, I don’t know what is.

Then there is always the electoral promise of economic & political paradise … which funnily enough after 10 years of Labour hasn’t yet arrived. However, with glib tongues they assure us that what now faces us can be euphemistically terms as “new challenges”. This translates into bungling the sorting out the mess they’ve already made … & that means higher taxes.

You know,I really think You guys are finished, All of you will have to make some very serious choices,Soon, Time is running out.

In fact, increasingly regularly, I find myself fighting the urge to reach for the keys to my firearms safe shortly after hearing which ever Home Secretary it is this week saying that we have to trust them.

Mr. FM, I sincerely hope that your blog is not on the .gov radar, because after having the testicular fortitude to express your feelings in print here, I would not be surprised if you were to receive a visit from the local constabulary on the topic of your firearms license. Nobody on the internet is truly anonymous. All it takes is one outraged reader suffering from PSH to go running to the "authorities" on how you were threatening people.

I am with Larry Graham - I think the UK will have to hit bottom before there's any possibility that it will get better, but at this point it's going down by the bow, and picking up speed.

Is there any chance you can emigrate before it's too late?
