The Irish Peace Process (updated)

Now according to lo-cal cuddly Gerrybear & Nicey McGuiness, the murders are over, all terrorist weapons have been decommissioned. If you don’t believe them, pop down to the King Billy Bar on the Shankill Road where these days, if what we are told is to be believed, they will be knocking back a couple of bracers with Reverend P. So with all of this bonhomie floating around, things like this just aren’t happening any more.

The Real IRA has admitted it shot an off-duty police officer in Londonderry last Thursday. The 43-year-old man was dropping his child off at school. He suffered injuries to his face and arm, and is still being treated in hospital. The dissident republican group said in a statement two of its members attacked the Catholic officer's car as it travelled along Bishop Street.

& there was me thinking that the IRA had undertaken to eschew violence & pursue their aims by purely political means: at least that’s what the politicians promised us when they released all of the convicted terrorists. Clearly that was the other IRA that signed the Good Friday Agreement. Remember if you will, the IRA has had more comeback tours than Britney Spears

The truth of the matter ... the Irish are never happier than when they are fighting among themselves & this is something that that have been doing since before recorded history started. You only have to recall the acrimonious break-up of Boyzone which culminated in the now infamous Bogside Studios Shootings. Signing some piece of paper will not undo hundreds of years of sectarian violence - the Westminster Village needs to come to terms with that & start listening to their own security briefings

Westminster listen? Not unless its spun and they are listening or rather seen to be listening and those doingthe talking will be the party faithful. Dont rock the boat you know!
