The problem
... with with friends from Texas is they send you emails like this ...
I know you gentlemen don't much care for this kind of thing, but I thought I'd just show you why an assault rifle ban will never work here in the U.S.
that have links like this attached to them
Warning: If you live in GFWland (as family FM does), what ever you do, do not follow the link. If you are a customer of Ohio Rapid Fire, you are truly blessed
Now while we are on the subject of the blessed, The English Shooter points us to the latest No10 e-petition calling for the return of our pistols. Methinks KdT is being rather mischievous.

Next time you visit the US, and if you fly into New York and rent a car, I would strongly suggest you visit SARCO, in Stirling NJ. While they're aren't racks of AK's about(this is NJ after all) there are racks and racks of assorted military surplus - Mosin Nagants, Swedish 96's, etc. There is also some more exotic military hardware for sale - like the recently sold ZIS 57mm Howitzer outside the front door, or the gorgeous Hotchkiss 37mm revolving cannon in the middle of the sales floor.

Mr FM,
that BHP is way too expensive. Here in Brussels they run between 300-400 EURO, and there are plenty around. As a foreign resident, you can get a permit without much hassle (65 Euro), and you park the thing at the gunshop or in the bank. You can Chunnel over and go shooting whenever you like. PM me through Kim's site and I can tell you more...

Legal like the guy at Dunblane had?
Posted by: Lucyp | March 7, 2007 11:46 PM
The guy at Dunblane was licensed but the Police failed in their duty to prevent a person who wasnt suitable to have access to arms. he was barred from 2 clubs before his application was even submitted. The local Firearms enquiry officer refused his application but was overulled by his inspector a man who was retired on full pension and whose evidence to the enquiry was covered by 100 year secrecy rules. Masonic connections to boot. Now who broke the law Lucyp?
in fact an almost identical set of circumstances occurred at Hungerford which the govt dealt with by banning several legal sports because the paid public servants (none of whom were punished) failed to do their job in the first place and the public paid for this incompetence. Shooters are taxpaying members of the public too. I havent seen any jet planes or buses banned since the last rash of plane crashes, motorway carnage or drink driving but that would affect tax revenue wouldnt it. grow up Lucyp and read up on the facts as uncovered at the enquiries before spouting off!

and would Hungerford or Dunblane have happened if responsible people owning and carrying legal firearms had been in the vicinities to step in and prevent the shootings. Waiting hours for the police to turn up is not much of a deterrence.
