Jack in the 21st Cent.

Our wretched Government, and its possible successors, should take note of the words of the preamble to the Articles of War 1652, which are emblazoned on the front of the Royal Naval College & are applicable today: "It is upon the Navy, under the Providence of God that the safety, honour and welfare of this realm do chiefly attend."

Yep, makes sense to me. Sink the Royal Navy.
Left with two aircraft carriers, three battleships and as few as 19 destroyers and frigates, I'm not sure that's even enough for coastal defense. (Australia has 19 frigates and submarines - maybe they'll lend some over).
Maybe not - the Chinese have built that many just in the past 10 years and now have about 50 warships compatible with western models, and several hundred others smaller or older.
