The misery goes on & on & on & on ……
Despite the predictions of certain Hollywood studios, the earth hasn’t been destroyed by a gargantuan lump of extra terrestrial Emmental – funny that. Still, probability isn’t a consideration when the bean counters are doing estimates of their projected box office takings. However, in lieu of environmental global catastrophe, those with the (recycled) tin foil hats have been busy in London again …
…. at least shinning up Admirality Arch keeps them for the streets for a couple of hours - literally. However, this weeks item of sustain-inistas isn’t the Trident missile system, nor even the always comes in handy chain saw – nope this week the misery brigade have focused their ever rational hatred, scorn & derision on the humble television remote control.

In the latest study from the Dept of Doom, research shows that because we all leave our household appliances on stand-by, the glaciers are going to melt which in turn will cause all the baby dolphins to die. Well whoopee sh*t! Not content with preventing our children from consuming sugar rich drinks at school the eco-miseries are now trying to mandate how we run the electrical equipment in our houses. The damn cheek of it! If I want to pass out on the sofa of sloth with half a dozen bits of kit all on standby, I bl**dy well will. It is a matter between your humble correspondent & his utility supplier – & absolutely 100% nothing to do with some government mandated snot nosed soap dodging environmental activist.
If the Save-the-Gay-Whales brigade want to go back to living in the dark ages, that is absolutely their own lifestyle choice & I am relaxed about it – just so long as they remain down wind of me. However, trying to dictate my own lifestyle choices is simply an open invitation to become acquainted with Dr FMs Home Proctology Kit

These are also the people who oppose nuclear power, the cleanest and safest power scource on the planet.

Also opposed are; wind farms (little birds can't see the whirling blades), hydroelectric dams, oil, gas, and of course, higher rates.

Wind farms are sadly a bit of a waste of time. They are not efficient, have very high maintenance costs and relatively short lifespans ... and the cost of the electricity they produce is more that it can be sold for... they only build the damn things to meet government targets that a certain amount of the power a utility co. produces must be from bunny friendly sources... funny that it doesn't actually work.
