On the basis that you made this post we can only assume the faithful Defender did rumble into life. This morning I believe I discovered the only tangible benefit of spending the working week in london: it is about 5 deg. warmer and my commute is 4 minutes on foot. And if I am being particularly slothful I could drive. That takes 5 minutes.

The Defender has never been a problem - 105,000 miles on the clock, so nicely run in & never let me down. Limped home once or twice, but got me home.
Its Disco Dave that on average, breaks down once every 10,000 miles. Pah!

Just don't go near a Discovery II... sucker looked (and felt) as tippy as they get.
