Just one of those days
Did I have a bad feeling about yesterday – nope, not really. Did I see lots of (unlucky) magpies – no, we have trapped most of those over the last couple of months. It was just a day that didn’t really happen. In summary …
-threw a sickie with the avowed intention of getting some vermin control done as they cut the oil seed rape in the field next to the pheasant pen
-stood in a field for 6 hours while the lads played around in their big bits of kit
-got completely covered in sh*ite
-shot one rabbit
-stood in a field some more
-got cold
-went out after dark to try & lamp some foxes
-got thrown around in the back of a landrover for 2 hours
-saw 1 fox, in the far distance – not shootable
-got really really cold
-finally got to bed at half past one
…& the really galling thing is that they will finish off the field today & as they cut the final strip, all the foxes will pop out … & this afternoon, at the critical time, I have to be in London. Pah!

Sounds like you had a bloody good day to me my friend. If there'd been some libation involved it would have been near perfect I'm sure.
