& now time to get the gates on …

Due to an administrative error, the game pens gates are a little taller than we originally thought they were going to be / or intended them to be. In fact, quite why we made them so big in the first place, I am not altogether sure. What was going to be a relatively minor task, turned into a reasonably substantial civil engineering job – with the gates requiring bracing on both sides.

Still, at least they are up now. There are still one or two details do be finished, such as digging in pieces of wood at the base to give a flush fit, but at least these fellas should keep the pheasants (that arrive in just over 3 weeks time) in.
