The European Union will lead a peace monitoring mission to Indonesia's Aceh province to oversee a deal to end three decades of conflict between rebels and the government, an EU official said on Thursday.
The roughly 200-person team could start moving into place as early as August 16, a day after a peace deal is due to be signed by the Indonesian government and Free Aceh Movement (GAM) rebels, EU spokeswoman Cristina Gallach said.
Yes yes yes, I know that I am an old cynic, but how exactly are 200 Euro warriors going to police this?? A bit like the Dutch managed to protect the so-called safe haven at Srebrenica. Ho hum!

"200 Euro warriors" ? The're not warriors, as: "All the monitors will be civilians. It's not a military mission."
So it will be 200 Eur'officials; well we know how effective that breed are.

What's the problem here? Europe demonstrates once again how impotent and altogether worthless it is and the world loses about 200 Euro-crats. Where's the downside?
