The morons here passed a law 10 years ago banning hunting cougars with dogs. Since then, the number of attacks on humans has skyrocketed, and instead of hunters paying through the nose for permits, the state has to pay people to curb the cougar population.

I will have to agree with you that using harsh language and yelling won't sway them any. They will still continue to do it. But, I don't belive that killing them in that mannor (or at all) will help "control" the population or make it any better for them. Who are we to judge on what dies and what stays? Nature should just be left alone to do what needs to be done. If a type of animal goes down in numbers because of ANOTHER ANIMAL, then that was nature's way of doing business. If we move and colonize into more areas, then we start beliving that other animals will "overrun other animals" and blame them, not ourselves. Please have some respect for nature. Plants, Animals, Insects and micro-organizms live in harmony with each other. Hunting, what a sport. I’m going shoot at something that’s hundreds of meters away, that has no chance of defending itself, because it feeds my ego. They end up going home, talking to there friends about the great time they had, sitting on there ass for hours waiting for an animal to show up so they can shot it and parade its dead body around. Now they have places where a bunch of animals are trapped in a pen so the hunters don’t have to look for them. I could understand if you were going after the animal alone, with only a knife, which would actually take guts and skill. As for your bullshit response, “ They’re over populated and are destroying the rest of the environment,” well they wouldn’t be if you hadn’t wiped out all of their natural predators.

You can not even begin to imagine how much this hurts me to see. It's not just that two of earth's defenseless creatures were killed, it's that you find amusement in killing them and upsetting people who actually care about the future. I am not going to say that you should be murdered like these foxes were, because no one in the world deserves that. i just wanted to say that killing foxes, coyotes, and all other varmints is a noble thing to do...not to mention a complete blast. Okay...first of all, let's stop being IMMATURE and start using civil language. Honestly, who has a debate while dropping the F bomb every other word? My views: We need to remember that yes, Frank, animals eat animals. My sister was vegetarian for a short while but got anemia so not everyone can survive without meat (or protein supplements for that matter.) If people hunt in moderation, and keep the balance of the ecosystem, all is fine. But remember, when the earliest humans hunted, they didn't get kills in abundant amounts or every day, so that's what kept the cycle in balance. Personally, I wouldn't hunt because I'm too much of a treehugging-enviromentalist :), and I love foxes especially, but people need to eat-its a fact of life. But one question--are you killing the foxes for food...or for sport?

The foxes are shot to control numbers esp with the problems we get with the poultry, they have no respect for rare breeds, & they will kill all the birds in a pen they do not always kill for food. On tye dairy farm we shoot them when the numbers increase & becombe a problem. We like to have a couple around because they are part of the natural environment. But if the numbers increase to much as they feed of domestic waste, they becombe poor & spread disease and become infested with mites. As they hve no natural preditors they die a miserable death when they becombe infected. So by shooting them & keeping the numbers down, we are quite happy to have a small no of healthy ones around. We do not use pestsides on the crops so rabits & pegions will destroy vast amouts of crops. And as the consumers including vegitarians dont want to pay any moore for their food rabits & pigeons are shot as well. But sometimes no matter how many are shot the next day they seem to be back in just the same numbers as if you havn,t shot any. So it goes on the country side has to be managed as we all need food be it meat or vegtibles.

The thing that gets people worked up is the pride others show in killing the animals, and then posting it on the internet. Like it has been said before, people aren't being forced to look at the pictures posted, but this came up on a google search for me, and it was something I didn't particularly want to see. What I definitly don't appreciate is the comments made about the foxes and the amusement you find in upsetting people who wish you hadn't shot them. Some people just optimize the ignorant of the world, and on this comment list we can see many. I am betting that most posters will have eaten meat/poultry on a regular basis. Do you know how cows are killed? Or how most poultry is kept and bred? Shooting a fox with a .308 (to the head/spine) is about as humane as you could possibly get. The animal will die instantly and feel no pain.
Also, fox populations have risen exponentially due to recent(ish) legislation, and this means that more poultry will be killed. Foxes DO kill for fun, I know this for a fact. A fox will break into a chicken hut and kill all of the chickens without eating them (even when i lived in London!). Fox populations need to be controlled. Dont forget that many hunters always eat their quarry, meaning that the fox does not always die for sport/culling resaons.
One more thing, since many of you silly, silly people are posting on the Internet, I will presume that you are using a computer. A computer and monitor use extreme amounts of electricity (you are contributing to global warming) and the PCB and minerals used in the production of electronics come from the devastation of Brazilian rain forest, in turn killing innocent animals. Every day you buy and use things that result in damage to the environment and death of innocent animals everywhere in the world.
