Lasciate ogni speranza voi ch’entrate!

As I type this, teddies are still marginally sub-orbital & I am not just talking about the lawn mower thing either (see previous post). My normal alcohol induced sanguine disposition is in tatters & I remain completely consumed with rage. I wasn’t going to go shooting last night, but when I read in the Evening Standard (& also, I understand, in that liberal rag, The Guardian) that …

“the government is to announce this week that it will press ahead with a ban on the manufacture, import and sale of "realistic" replica and imitation guns a year after the Home Office said a blanket ban was unworkable and impractical. The ban will not be as wide-ranging as gun control campaigners had been pressing for but it will be accompanied by a measure making it illegal for anybody under the age of 18 to buy any kind of imitation or replica firearm.”

…I headed off to the range to get some serious trigger time.

My rage doesn’t stop there .. oh no, not by a long chalk. Your humble correspondent is in the process of getting a errrrrr reasonably substantial variation to his Firearms Certificate. Well in the light of more anti-gun laws, the whole scope of that procedure has just been accelerated, as well as being considerably expanded. In fact, just for the record, every time our GFW politicians & their nefarious allies (such as Mothers Against Reality) introduce more anti-gun legislation, I Mr Free Market will (legally) acquire more personal firepower.

Aside from what I currently own, I would like to think that in the last 24 months, my efforts have gone a small way to recruiting two new shooters to the law abiding responsible gun owning community. In fact, with a fair wind, I hope to make that three in the near future. However, as soon as I can, I am going to buy more guns: as soon as my son & daughter are old enough, they will hold Shotgun Licences & Firearms Certificates in their own names.

I do not care if,

“Ministers appeared to rule out a ban on imitation weapons a year ago because of the difficulty of coming up with a precise legal definition of a replica. But senior civil servants have managed to circumvent the problem to ensure that the crackdown does not include toy guns and water pistols in a wholesale blanket ban.”

… I am simply not going to buy any replica firearms, I am going to buy real ones. It matters not that,

“the bill will make clear that the ban on the sale of replicas only covers imitation guns that any reasonable person could mistake for a firearm"

...everything that I own will go bang; as regularly as range / hunting time & the ammo fund will allow. And as for this new bill raising the age limit for buying knifes to 18 & tightening the law on airguns, when will these people ever learn. Decades of a anti-gun legislation have done nothing, absolutely nothing to make this country any safer – so why exactly will this new raft of legislation have any impact; other than further impinging upon the rights, enjoyment & sport, of decent law abiding people. You utter utter numpties, I cannot even begin to articulate the boundless contempt that I collectively hold pondlife like you, in.

& now, if you will excuse me, I need to amend my Firearms Certificate variation form, from a simple alteration request, into a fantasy list of all that is great & good in the beloved world of evil, high powered, military style, sniper rifles that fire deadly dum dum type bullets to a range of a zillion miles & can cause entire buildings to collapse – in fact does anyone know of a gun that can cause both worldwide famine, instability in the financial markets together with a goodly dose of global warming... because I want one!

Ah, the Government MUST be seen to be doing something. It matters not whether it is the right thing to do, their linguistic gymnastics can justify anything these days.

Remember, it's for the children...

I have a pitchfork, that's for the children too.

"in fact does anyone know of a gun that can cause both worldwide famine, instability in the financial markets together with a goodly dose of global warming"

I thought the Californians had decided that the 50 cal covered that particular base?

"when will these people ever learn."

Not until far, far too late.

What a bunch of sad-sad retards on the short bus.
No, sorry - those kids are bright-eyed and happy and have a joyous spirit - these nimrods on the other hand are completely lacking in all respects.

Surely in England we will all need handguns to save ourselves from all the wounded foxes roaming the countryside now the hunters cannot send the dog to finish off the 50% or so that are not clean kills!
