2004 UK Gun Crime Figures
So, provisional figures for last year have just been released & show,
“a 10 per cent rise in gun crime from 10,080 in 2003 to 11,082 recorded offences.”
However, it transpires that ‘the authorities’ have a new scapegoat. Apparently, gun crime is no longer perpetrated by hardened criminals - oh no – now it seems that its not drug dealers that are shooting it out on the streets of poor old blighty, nope; its teenagers with bb guns … yeah right !!
& the answer is …… more regulations, more bans, more being seen to try & do something without achieving anything other the introduction of even more pernicious legislation.
“Within [the 2004] figures, offences involving imitation firearms, including BB guns, rose by 66 per cent from 1,965 in 2003 to 3,268 last year. The number of slight injuries, a sure sign of BB guns, went up 74 per cent from 1,754 in 2003 to 3,051.”
Apparently, our Chief Constables think that rising gun crime is a public misconception – well clearly said Chief Officers must be reading the Nu Labour Daily & not the newspapers that your humble correspondent does. Numpties !
As for more gun bans; none of the existing bans have worked, so why should these? All that all of the anti-gun legislation introduced since 1980 has achieved, other than NOTHING, is to deprive decent law abiding citizens of their rights, processions & sport. B*stards !
