MG Rover
So the UK’s last volume car maker slid down the slippery slope to insolvency … so what? Their products are rubbish & customers have gone elsewhere.

To date that sour faced old harridan, Patricia Hewitt (Trade & Industry Secretary) has only spunked £6.5m of our money away, keeping them afloat. I am not quite sure why she is so bent on ‘saving these jobs’, she has never done an honest days toil in her life. Maybe it has something to do with the Rover plant being situated in a Labour constituency? Call me cynical, but it is just a thought.

True. But it's always sad to see a firm with a proud history go down the gurgler. Rover once made cars that were worthy of the proud themes on its badge. It used to make fine British automobiles.

The cars arn't rubbish. My last three were Rovers (latest being the 45). What impressed me more than any continental car I have owned is the build quality. I know they arn't 'fashionable' motors but for the money and having owned foreign cars I much prefer Rover. And I have just ordered a new MG ZS which will be delivered on Friday - that is how much faith I have in MG Rover. These cars were (ARE) good cars which have been very badly marketed.
