Doctors wise up?
I love this...
"More than two thirds of the leading doctors who publicly declared their support for Tony Blair in 1997 and urged the public to vote Labour for the sake of the NHS have turned their backs on the party."
No doubt, supporters of massive central government spending will continue to bleat about all of the taxpayers money that has been poured into the NHS … to create an organisation that is now the biggest employer in the country, with untold layers of administration, paperwork & waste. But it is very difficult to argue against people like Vincent Marks, Emeritus Professor of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Surrey, who thinks that Labour’s reforms are…
“against the most fundamental principles of the NHS” ...
Or what about Duncan Dymond, a consultant cardiologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital making comments such as …
“When Alan Milburn (the former Health Secretary) spoke of patients, patients, patients, he was really saying votes, votes, votes."
and
“The Government has missed a huge opportunity with the health service. It has not made any substantial, long-standing changes. There has been a marginalisation of the clinician and manipulation of patients to satisfy the bureaucrats.”
Bye bye taxpayers lovely money. More here
