Abuse & looters

So we were watching the latest allegations of abuse of asylum seekers on the late news last night – you know the sort of stuff … ‘undercover BBC reporter blah blah blah'. Anyway, Mrs FM was cross referencing this months issue of Horse & Hound, with the PIRA Cookbook & a list of Labour Party offices across the UK.

Incensed, she threw the det cord back into her darning box & exclaimed,

“If they didn’t bl**dy well come here uninvited in the first place, they wouldn’t get beaten up!”

Every brave, your humble correspondent ‘popped smoke & retired by sections’ taking the Labrador of Libertarianism of a long long evening walk, till such time as I was confident that a ceasefire had been declared in the free fire zone that is our sitting room.

But on a related ‘abuse’ topic – why does our government seek to persecute the armed forces just because some toms get ordered to give looters a hard time? Looters are the scum of the earth & deserve every beasting that comes their way. As is so often the case, there as lessons to be learnt form history here – take the Duke of Wellington for example – he knew a thing or two about looting what to do with looters!

The link to the BBC report contains this quote from Anne Owen, HM Chief Inspector of Prisons:

"For that reason, she says the Prison Inspectorate had already announced an earlier than usual unannounced inspection of the centre."

Can anyone explain why the Inspectorate are "announcing" unannounced inspections?
