Whitewash; it does exactly what it says on the tin

My own blatant & recurrent hypocrisy is of course, completely forgivable. I neither purport to be some sort of moral guardian of this country nor do I take the taxpayers’ nickel; unlike MP for Sheffield Brightside & Home Secretary, David ‘Shagger’ Blunkett. I neither seek to erode honest law biding bulldogs’ rights & freedoms nor do I have the temerity to ask the taxpayer to fund me in doing so. However, like all of the finest politicians, Shagger processes neither a sense of irony … nor condoms, clearly.

Writing in the travel section of the weekend Torygraph, Shagger sort to answer the deeply probing political question, “what do you hate about holidays?” His answer was perfect,

“I hate the feeling of guilt when I think I should be dealing with things in the office. It’s a terrible thing, which arises from my Methodist upbringing.”

I just wonder if the is the same Methodist upbringing that taught him to have children in a extra-marital relationship when another mans wife, because if it is, I going to sign up for that particular branch of the Christian faith this afternoon … the Mothers’ Day service will be interesting to say the least.

As for the tsunami of salacious allegations made by his former lover (who is no doubt by now, in receipt of a not insubstantial Gregory Peck from some newspaper or another) Shagger’s response is perfect, for a man whose integrity in now in question … he commissions an inquiry into himself. Fabulous … you just cannot make this stuff up. Upon hearing that, I thanked the good Lord for both the gift of laughter & single malt whiskey – poured myself a large one & contemplated the chances of Shagger being found to have strayed from the straight & narrow???

Maybe the saddest thing about this whole shabby affair is that Shagger’s behaviour is simple not acceptable in one of Her Majesty’s ministers – yet the pond life that comprise our political class seem slow to condemn, even though the evidence is there for all to see.

You have it on the money my good man, we can expect nothing more than the usual Whitehall shade of whitewash in this sham establishment inquiry.
I hold hope in my heart that we could see the back of this Statist tosser through this, but I fear he will cling on and become emboldened through his survival.

...and even if he does fall, NuLabour has no doubt plenty of Blunkett-clones to take his place.
