The Capture of Saddam Hussein
How can the Her Majesty’s Governemnt be so stupid & naïve. Having read the news wires this morning, I see……..

LONDON (Reuters) - The government says it will play "no part" in any trial of Saddam Hussein that might lead to his death.
"The United Kingdom is against the death penalty," Britain's senior envoy to Iraq Jeremy Greenstock said on Monday.
"So we would have no part of a tribunal or a process that had the death penalty as one of its penalties."

How many mass graves does it take? Perhaps Mr Blair & Mr Greenstock would like to see Saddam Hussain incarcerated at huge cost in the same manner as the Lockerbie bombers. It another example of liberal-socialist idealism overriding common sense & frankly the will of the free Iraqi people.
My suggestion, well it goes something like………

Hanging is too quick and to painless for him.
How about electrocution by car battery?
Punishment should fit the crime. That said, some acid dip, or molten lead dip, or both should be involved as well.

We haven't used the noose and gallows in Texas for several years. But I seem to recall being taught that tradition required thirteen turns around the three lengths in the main.
Personally, I'd recommend the industrial shredder. Which, when fed feet first, would mysteriously jam just above the knees. "Oops, sorry, old man. We've rung the seller's shop and they will have someone right out to unjam the works. Thursday afternoon, between 1 and 5 pm, two weeks from now."

If I was in charge of punishment, I would have Saddam's tongue removed.
Then I would send him around Iraq in a cage and in each town give Iraqi citizens one by one 10 minutes to tell Saddam about how his evil has hurt their family.
They could yell or speak quietly - whatever each individual choses. However they wouldn't be allowed to hurt him physically since that would be taking away opportunities for the next person in line.

Hmm, 10 minutes, 25 million people. Better give him lunch ... after they all get through.
Seriously though, I think the best thing would be to turn him over to a legally constituted Iraqi court and let them handle him. While he has harmed many in the region, the most harm was done to Iraqis. This disposition would legitimize the new Iraqi government and establish it in the eyes of the region.

Mr. Free Market,
I believe it doesn't matter what HM government is saying to satiate the liberals, Saddam will get his justice from the Iraqi people anyway. And the fools who supported his tyranny will have no say in it whatsoever. They'll complain that this was a barbaric move, and we'll hear the same terrorist propaganda from Al Jazeera and others, but while those of us who actually have some sense sit back and breath a sigh of relief knowing that a threat to our homes and families is gone from this world, we can just point to the Iraqis and say, "It was their decision, we had nothing to do with it." And, for the most part, it'll be the truth

Refering to a previous post about Saddam's appearance after he was captured, 4thIDRocks replied by saying, "Saddam? I thought they'd captured Jerry Garcia."

The coalition should try him for crimes against the world. Then an Iraqi trial for crimes against Iraq. The primary sentence is the Iraqi one, the secondary is the coalition one.
What is it with liberals? They are pro-abortion AKA the killing of innocent babies, but anti-death penalty AKA the killing of MURDERERS. I don't see any moral virtues in protecting the evil and killing the innocent, but they do.
