The huge majority of Eastern European accession states have thus far manifested a considerable amount of good old-fashioned common sense. Funnily enough, rather than passively accepting the current Strasbourg sponsored federalist agenda, they seem to agree that a free trade zone might well be a sensible idea, but strongly resist further integration/invasion. I suspect that it might well something to do with 20th century history and that that have only recently thrown off the shackles of Soviet Russian domination (which incidentally federal-fascists seem hell bent upon replicating).

Since the inception of the EEC/Common Market, the euro-crats in Germany & France have pretty much had things their own way. The prospect now looms of voting in the euro-talking shops becoming much less controlled by the passing whims & policies of Berlin & Paris. Imagine that, the Hun & its collaborationist ally the Frog not being allowed to have their own way, by the new members of the EU. Ooooooooo, toys straight out of the pram!

Having resisted federalisation from Paris & Berlin, the EU accession states seem to have already compounded their crimes, by being far more US orientated than is acceptable to the so-called ‘founder members’. In the finest traditions of Teutonic & Gallic democracy, rather than accepting the majority, they are off to from a new club – and don’t they just deserve one & other.

Now, whenever I am forced to endure pro-EU propaganda from the BBC (aka Brussels Broadcasting Corporation) I am never quite sure who is speaking, German Chancellor Jacques “Corruption” Chirac or French President Gerhard “No Votes” Schroder. This year has seen these odd bed-fellows speaking as one, on everything from their shameless appeasement of Saddam Hussein to defending the corrupt & wasteful Common Agricultural Policy. What next; these two visionaries have now come up with the concept of the Franco-German Union.

Oh great, that’s a new one isn’t it; but it didn’t stop Dominique de Vile-spin, the French Minister of Collaboration with Dictators start claiming it was some kind of first. Once more, these supposedly educated political elites have completely forgotten most of the lessons of the last 200 years of history. This concept of a union between these two countries has been promoted by such good Europeans as Napoleon, the Kaiser, and Hitler………oh yes, I nearly forgot the small matter of the 1870’s.

Your correspondent is of the opinion however that the integration of the French & German armies will be absolutely fantastic – be sure to buy tickets early! How will they work out which soldiers are supposed to be invading which country on which day & who should be surrendering to whom? The Boxheads will want to say, subjugate the Balkans, but the garlic-munchers will have to stop for a three hour lunch. Ever seen a fully armoured field kitchen at full tilt, crossing the Steppe? You will.

Like all collectivist theories, both the EU & the Brioche /Bratwurst Pact are very bad things. They all look better on paper than in the cold reality of morn. It is however more than amusing to see the fit of pique than Germany & French are throwing because they can’t get their own way – what petulant children they are turning out to be, nothing however that a smack couldn’t sort out – where did I park my Lancaster bomber?
